Instead of performing Charles Dickens' beloved holiday classic for the umpteenth time, three actors decide to perform every Christmas story ever told -- plus Christmas traditions from around the world, seasonal icons from ancient times to topical pop-culture, and every carol ever sung. A madcap romp through the holiday season!
Seeking three actors age 20-50, Strong characterizations and ability to differentiate between storybook characters, dialects/accents/voice affections are a big plus. Actors do need to sing one song in the play. You need not be a musical theater level singer, but must be willing to sing! This goes for movement as well, mainly during The Nutcracker segment. Actors will be using their own name and bringing a part of themselves to the characters they are portraying. Still, there are certain qualities each character possess.
• John – The embodiment of childhood innocence and wonder at Christmas. Enthusiastic about any and all things Santa Claus and possesses the true meaning of Christmas.
• Jim – Realistic and logical, almost to the point of overkill. Traditional and set in his belief of how Christmas should be observed.
• Michael – Laid back, easy going and knowledgeable- at least on the surface. Serves as a balance between the wondrous John and realistic Jim.
