From
the Massachusetts Turnpike
Take
90 E to the end. Stay to the left when exiting the tunnel
and take the exit for 1A North to Revere. This will become
a two-way divided highway. At the first light, go right, following
the sign that says “To 145 Orient Heights.” Your
landmark at this intersection is a Starbucks on the
opposite corner. Follow this road through the square at Orient
Heights. You will have passed through one flashing light and
navigated around a traffic island. Landmark is the Ruggiero
Mazzarella Funeral Home on your right. At the intersection,
there is a traffic light (Orient Heights T station is on the
opposite corner.) Go straight through this light and into
Winthrop. You will go through one traffic light, pass a sign
that says “Welcome to Winthrop”, pass a Mobil
station on your left and then come to another traffic light.
Landmark is the Ace Hardware on your right and a small plaza
with a Laundromat and a sandwich shop right on the corner.
There is a sign that says 145 continues to the right. DO NOT
GO RIGHT HERE! Go through one traffic light. At the next traffic
light and take a right onto Hermon Street. There is sign that
says “Winthrop Playmakers” and a dentist’s office on this corner.
As you drive down this street, you will see the Playhouse
on your right. To park, continue past the theater to the next
corner and turn right (police station opposite corner and a statue of a Spanish American
War hero straight ahead in the square.) You will pass Nick's Place
on your left and turn into a parking lot for the EB Newton
School, which is directly across the street from the Nick's Place.
(Do not overshoot this—the next street will take you
past a park in the center of town and you will not be able
to directly access parking from there.) Follow the driveway
to available parking and then you can walk directly out to
Hermon Street and to the Playhouse on your left.
From
the North
Take
93 S to exit 24B. This is a right exit, but you should stay
to the left as there is a split. Continue through the Callahan
Tunnel. Stay to the left when exiting the tunnel and take
the second exit after the tunnel, heading for 1A North to
Revere. This will become a two-way divided highway. At the
first light, go right, following the sign that says “To
145 Orient Heights.” Your landmark at this intersection
is a Starbucks on the opposite corner. Follow this

across from the Nick's Place. ( Do not overshoot this—the
next street will take you past a park in the center of town
and you will not be able to directly access parking from there.)
Follow the driveway to available parking and then you can
walk directly out to Hermon Street and to the Playhouse on
your left.
From
the North (using Rte 1 South)
Take Rte 1 south to the Rte 16 exit (Everett/Somerville).
At the end of the exit ramp, get into the left lane IMMEDIATELY
(be careful, it is tricky!)
At the first light, take a U turn. You will be on this road
for a few minutes. Travel on this road until you see a beige
and green building that is the Extra Space Storage Building.
Just after that building, bear right at the large intersection,
then stay in the right lane. Take a right at you first light
onto 1A (Logan Airport/Sumner Tunnel). Travel through one
light and at the next light, take a left onto 145.
Your landmark
at this intersection is a Starbucks on the opposite
corner. Follow this road through the square at Orient Heights.
